What you will learn


Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will describe the principles of sensory integration treatment, focusing on how sensory reactivity and discrimination impact adaptive behaviors in children.

  2.  Participants describe the characteristics of tactile, auditory, and visual sensory processing difficulties, including modulation and discrimination challenges, and their effects on daily activities.

  3. Participants will develop and implement sensory-based strategies to support children with sensory modulation and discrimination difficulties, promoting improved participation and adaptive responses.

This course is eligible for 1.0 contact hours (0.1 CEUs).

Successful Completion of Course:  

The following criteria will determine satisfactory completion of the course: 

- Attendance to the entire length of the course is evidenced by database logs. No partial credit will be awarded. 

- Successful completion of post-course quiz on learning objectives with at least 80% of answers correct.  

- Completion of post-course survey

Instructor Bio  

Dr. Piller is the owner and director of Piller Child Development, an outpatient pediatric therapy company with three locations in the greater Phoenix area. She has advanced training in sensory integration and also specializes in feeding therapy. She received her masters in occupational therapy from Temple University and her PhD in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has her board certification in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and is also a fellow of AOTA.
